Turn your tabs into to‑dos you can finally clear.
Tasktab is a to-do list that lives in Chrome's side panel. Add your tabs to the tasks they belong to. When you finish a task, its tabs close with it.
Too many tabs, and no idea what they're for
If you work across lots of web apps, every project leaves a trail of open tabs. After a while you can't tell which ones still matter. Closing them feels risky, so they pile up.
Give every tab a task
With Tasktab, you add each tab to the task it's for. When you're done for the day, close the tabs. The task keeps them, ready to reopen.
Clear your tasks and your tabs together
When you check off a task, its tabs close too. Your to-do list and your browser stay tidy at the same time.
Common questions
Does Tasktab add every tab I open to my list?
No. A tab is only added to your list when you choose to add it. The one exception is a new tab opened by a tab that's already in a task: the new tab is added to that same task. Browsing never creates a new task on its own.
What happens to my tasks when I close Chrome?
Your tasks are saved. When you open Chrome again, your tasks are still there, along with the tabs that belong to them. This is true even if Chrome crashes.
Does Tasktab work with pinned tabs?
Tasktab leaves pinned tabs alone, so they stay where they are. Pin the apps you keep open all day, such as email and your calendar.
Can I see my tasks on my phone?
Yes. Sign in with your email address, and we'll send you a code. Then open Tasktab on your phone to see your tasks, and tap any of a task's tabs to open that page.
What keyboard shortcuts does Tasktab have?
Alt+K opens the Tasktab panel. Alt+Shift+Down and Alt+Shift+Up move to the next or previous task. Alt+Shift+F turns on Focus, which folds and dims every task except the one you're working on.
What data does Tasktab collect?
None, unless you turn on sync. Your tasks are stored in your browser. If you turn on sync to use Tasktab on another device, it stores your tasks and columns, the titles and addresses of the tabs in your tasks, any names you gave those tabs, and when each one changed. It never collects page contents or your browsing history. Read the privacy policy.
Is Tasktab free?
Yes. Tasktab is free, and it works in Chrome version 120 or later.
