Tasktab privacy policy
Tasktab is a Chrome extension that turns your open tabs into a to-do list.
What stays in your browser
Everything, until you turn on sync. Your tasks, the tabs and links they hold, the names you give pages, and your columns are stored in the extension's own storage on this computer. Tasktab makes no network requests of its own before sync is on.
What sync sends, and where
If you sign in, Tasktab keeps a copy of your list at its server so you can reach it from your phone and other browsers: task titles, columns, the URLs and titles of the tabs in each task, the names you gave pages, and when each changed. Nothing else: no page contents, no browsing history, no tabs that are not part of a task, no pinned tabs.
The server is a Supabase project run by the Tasktab author. Data is stored in the United States and is readable only by your account. Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to your email address; the address is used for sign-in and nothing else.
Your control
Signing out stops sync. Deleting the extension deletes the local copy. To have the server copy deleted, email privacy@tasktab.dev and it will be removed within a week.
Changes
If what Tasktab collects changes, the extension will ask again before sending anything new.
